Sad times for Ukraine, our thoughts are with you
(Ukrainian flag or a heart with a Ukrainian flag colours in it?)

Well what a year this is turning out to be already. Whilst plans are in motion here at ABC for expanding our operations and growing our client base we are seeing massive changes in the world. First Covid-19 and now Russia at war with Ukraine….very sad times and our thoughts here at ABC Service are with all those fighting for their country.

With this sad news we are also having to report that prices sadly are going to have to increase due to the economic changes across the board and the ever growing business costs with increase of fuel, energy prices, paper prices and wage increases (the latter as stipulated by government).

IT Advice

Email Accounts – When customers are setting up email accounts through us we will always ask/setup backups in place for account recovery, whether this is using a mobile phone number or alternative email address. However, if you are planning on setting up your own email account please ensure you put in a relevant contact number that is NOT your landline number.

Passwords – We have had a few months of customers saying that they have never had a password on say an email account or Facebook etc when setting up their new devices. This, is simply not accurate and we cannot stress enough that all accounts with things such as email, internet banking, social media etc will most definitely have passwords on them. The problem here is that a lot of apps are auto signed in, web browsers remembering passwords etc. Before upgrades are done or replacements carried out we highly recommend customers go through their browser stored passwords and make note of their key ones that they need access to.

In Chrome go to the 3 dots in the top right hand corner
Click on Auto-Fill on the left hand side
Click on Passwords

And your entire list of logins will be there if you have saved it to the Chrome browser.
A similar method is used for Edge etc.

Other news…our favourite Antivirus solution, Bullguard Internet Security, became part of Norton group and now is being swallowed / converted completely by Norton. We are currently going through the process and seeing what is suitable, what Norton is now like i.e. if they have improved things considerably. We will be looking at all options though over the coming weeks and will be advising our clients on what we deem to be a suitable antivirus going forward. Note that whatever we sell / advise is what we ourselves will use here.
