The 3 Types of VoIP Phone System Service You Can Get

Oct 26, 2021

If your business still has not switched to VoIP or Voice over Internet Protocol, you might want to rethink a few things. VoIP, also known as IP telephony, is the updated way of delivering voice communication and other multimedia sessions over the internet and other possible internet protocol networks. With VoIP, your company no longer has to deal with long-distance charges since everything operates through one network―the internet.

If you remain uneducated and unconvinced about VoIP, here are the essential facts you need to know about them.

The Set-Up

A VoIP phone system would only require you an adapter and a digital phone line. The latter comes with three different VoIP phone options.

  • The ATA (Analogue Telephone System)

If you do not want to transform to digital calls completely, the ATA would be a good option. This VoIP phone type enables you to make both analogue and digital calls. It does not require an Analogue Telephone Adapter. It can connect to both the internet and existing telephone lines.

For the same reason, the ATA is also capable of doing circuit switching. That means being able to use voice and data simultaneously. It makes the ATA the perfect choice for businesses dealing with various calls from multiple locations. The only downside is that this option is more expensive than others because of its offered services.

  • The PC-to-PC Phone

If you choose this option, you can still make calls from an existing telephone line to another telephone line but through routing the calls via the internet and LAN. All you need is your PC, modem or router, and an internet connection. You can even send voice call messages to their answering machines, virtual fax machine, or email over the internet.

  • The ISDN Telephone

This option uses the ISDN phone technology, enabling low-bandwidth voice and data transmissions in the UK and outside countries, such as the US, Canada, and Australia. It works by transmitting the incoming call to your private network. Also, it allows you to make calls via the VoIP service or through ISDN lines.

The direct routing of calls helps reduce your long-distance charges and allows you to make a call from wherever you are. It is the best choice should you want a cost-effective and convenient way of managing your business communication.

Conclusion

The VoIP system is not new in the business. It is a real game-changer in the way businesses communicate with their customers, clients, and suppliers, and it offers so much more than what traditional phones can service. Furthermore, it provides customizability that can make your business stand out from the competition. Now that every business is turning digital, it is your chance to maximise what your business can offer online.
