Share a thoughtful message, invitation or business note with professionally printed A6 greeting cards from ABC Service. A6 is a versatile folded format that provides more room than A7 while remaining easy to post, display, package or include with an order.

Each card is printed from an A5 sheet measuring 148×210mm, scored down the middle and folded to a finished A6 size of approximately 105×148mm. Cards are supplied with a choice of white or Kraft envelopes, making them suitable for personal correspondence, retail collections, events and customer communications.

What size is an A6 greeting card?

The finished folded card is approximately 105×148mm. It is produced from a flat A5 sheet measuring 148×210mm before the centre score and fold.

That folded format gives you four design areas to plan:

    • The front cover
    • The back of the card
    • The inside left panel
    • The inside right panel

A6 gives you a useful balance between a compact card and a generous writing or design area. It is large enough for a detailed illustration, photograph or longer message while remaining a familiar and practical size.

A6 is a versatile middle ground — large enough to give your design room to breathe, but compact enough to post, display and package easily.

How A6 greeting card printing works

The card starts as a flat A5 sheet. Your artwork is printed across the sheet, allowing for the front, back and inside pages. The sheet is then scored through the centre before being folded into the finished A6 portrait card.

Scoring creates a controlled fold line and helps the card fold neatly, particularly when using heavier card media. The production method is simple, but the flat artwork needs to be prepared carefully so the panels appear in the intended positions after folding.

When are A6 greeting cards useful?

A6 greeting cards are suitable for a wide range of personal, event, retail and business uses, including:

    • Birthday, anniversary and thank-you cards
    • Wedding and celebration stationery
    • Invitations and event messages
    • Christmas and seasonal card collections
    • Gift messages and product-package inserts
    • Handmade-market and independent retail ranges
    • Customer appreciation and follow-up notes
    • Business correspondence and short company updates
    • Charity and fundraising card collections

The portrait format provides enough room for a clear cover design and a useful inside message without becoming difficult to handle or store.

    Choose the card media

GSM means grams per square metre. It is a common way of describing the weight of paper or card. A higher gsm generally indicates a heavier material, although the surface and construction also affect how the finished card feels.

    • 300gsm Uncoated for a natural surface that can be suitable for handwriting
    • 350gsm Silk for a smooth surface and clean colour reproduction
    • 400gsm Artboard for a heavier and more rigid feel
    • 280gsm Kraft for a warm brown appearance with a natural character
    • 300gsm Gesso for a distinctive textured-style surface

Think about how the card will be used before choosing the media. A handwritten thank-you may suit a different surface from a premium illustrated retail card or a business invitation.

    Envelopes and finishing options

A6 greeting cards can be supplied with white or Kraft envelopes. White envelopes create a clean, neutral presentation, while Kraft envelopes provide a warmer, more natural appearance.

The product page also lists the following finishing options:

    • No Laminate
    • Matt Laminate
    • Gloss Laminate
    • Soft Touch Laminate

Lamination adds a protective film and changes the appearance and handling of the printed surface. Matt laminate reduces shine, gloss laminate increases sheen and Soft Touch laminate gives a smooth, velvety feel.

Single-sided and double-sided printing options are available. Check the live product options to ensure the selected printing and finishing choices suit your artwork, card media and quantity.

    Prepare your artwork correctly

The current product instructions request artwork at 154×216mm, including 3mm bleed on every edge. Bleed is the extra background artwork that extends beyond the final trim area, helping prevent unwanted white edges after cutting.

    • Supply artwork at 154×216mm including 3mm bleed on every edge
    • Allow for the A5 flat sheet and centre fold that create the A6 card
    • Keep text, logos and important details safely inside the trim area
    • Keep small text and essential content away from the centre score
    • Check the orientation of the inside panels before exporting
    • Extend background colours and images into the bleed area
    • Proofread names, dates, addresses and messages before uploading

A printed dummy or proof can be useful when a design includes directional illustrations, borders crossing panels or a carefully aligned inside message.

    Ordering multiple designs

The ordering system cannot detect multi-page documents automatically. If your file contains two or more pages or designs, choose the correct quantity for the number of cards required.

Where the live product options allow it, an order quantity can be split across several designs. This may be useful for a seasonal collection, a range of retail cards or several business designs.
